  About the Central Administration  
Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Eric Byrne
Dr. Byrne joined the Rye City School District as Superintendent of Schools in July, 2017. He comes to Rye from the Chappaqua Central School District where he served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the past six years. Previously, he served as Principal of the Roaring Brook School in Chappaqua, of the Pound Ridge Elementary School in the Bedford Central School District, and of Public School (PS) 183 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He began his career as a high school science teacher at Grover Cleveland High School in Queens and later became an elementary school teacher at PS 183. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education for more than 11 years. Dr. Byrne has a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science from Fordham University, a Master of Science in Teaching and an EdD in Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy, both from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education. 

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Ms. Sheryl Goffman
Ms. Sheryl Goffman was appointed as Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in June 2016. She began her educational career in 1975 and has served as a deputy superintendent, a school-level administrator, a college instructor and a classroom teacher. She most recently served as Interim Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services in the Ossining UFSD and as Interim Director of Educational Services in the Peekskill City School District. She retired from her position as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Mineola Union Free School District in 2010.  Ms. Goffman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University's School of Education, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Special Education, a Masters in Education from Teacher's College at Columbia University in Special Education/Administration and has undertaken Doctoral Studies in Special Education/Administration, also at Columbia University Teachers College.

Assistant Superintendent for Business
Ms. Gabriella O'Connor 
Gabriella O’Connor took on the role of Assistant Superintendent for Business in August 2013 after serving as Assistant Business Manager since 2011. She has also been heavily involved in the budget, capital project, and federal grant processes throughout her time in the District. Prior to her start in Rye, Ms. O’Connor was Administrative Assistant to the Business Official in the Croton-Harmon School District for four years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration, and a Master of Science Degree in Education, all from Pace University.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
Ms. Elaine Cuglietto
Ms. Cuglietto joined the District in 1995, when she was hired for a role in the Psychology Department at Rye High School. She was appointed Director of Personnel in 2007, and in 2011 was appointed Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Personnel. Mrs. Cuglietto additionally serves as District Clerk. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Behavioral Studies from Manhattanville College, a Masters Degree in School Administration from Mercy College, and a Masters Degree Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY New Paltz.

Rye High School Principal
Mrs. Patricia Taylor
Patricia Taylor took on the role of Rye High School Principal in July 2011, prior to which she served as assistant principal of guidance and student support services. Rye High School is home to Mrs. Taylor – she started her public education career at the school in 1982, working as a guidance counselor and assistant director of guidance until 1988, when she accepted a position at Bronxville High School. In 2001, she returned to Rye. Mrs. Taylor is a past recipient of the New York State Association College Admission Counseling Distinguished Secondary School Counselor Award, Westchester College Clinic Best Program Award, and the College Board’s Bernard P. Ireland Award. She obtained her Master of Science Degree from Long Island University and Bachelor of Science Degree from SUNY Cortland, and completed her administrative education at the College of New Rochelle.
Rye Middle School Principal
Dr. Ann Edwards
Ann Edwards was appointed principal of Rye Middle School on February 2, 1998.  Before coming to Rye, she served as headmaster, assistant principal, and English Department Chair in the middle schools and high school in Stratford, Connecticut.  Other prior experience includes service as Director of Camp Seabury in Greenwich, Principal of St. Gabriel Middle School in Stamford, and teacher of English and computer studies at St. Mary High School in Greenwich.  She also was a teacher of reading and English at Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford as well as an adjunct instructor, Graduate Division, at Sacred Heart University where she taught Literature for Adolescents and Education in the United States for nine years.  She holds a doctorate in education administration from Columbia University Teachers College.
Midland School Principal-
Mr. James Boylan
James Boylan joined Midland School as Principal in July 2014, after serving as Assistant Principal at Hillside Elementary School in the Hastings-on-Hudson School District since 2011. Previously, Mr. Boylan worked in the Briarcliff Manor School District as an elementary school teacher while also honing his experience as a teacher leader and intern administrator. He earned a Master of Education Degree from Bank Street College where he also gained New York State Certification in School Building and School District Leadership.  Mr. Boylan holds a Master of Science Degree from Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Clemson University.

Milton School Principal
Dr. JoAnne Nardone
Dr. Nardone was appointed as Milton School Principal in 1999 after having served as the Assistant to the Superintendent of the Hendrick Hudson School District.  She previously served as a Program Specialist for the New York City Chancellor’s Office and Director of Foreign Languages, Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language in District 8, Bronx. Dr. Nardone was a middle/high school teacher of Spanish and Italian and an elementary school bilingual education teacher and teacher of English as a Second Language.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish/Italian and MsEd in Elementary Education from Iona College, MsEd in Education of the Gifted and MsEd in Teaching English as a Second Language from the College of New Rochelle, Master of Arts Degree in Spanish Literature and Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from New York University, and EdM and EdD in Educational Administration from Columbia University.

Osborn School Principal
Ms. Angela Garcia
Ms. Garcia was appointed Principal of Osborn School in July 2012. Before joining the Rye Administrative Team she served as Assistant Principal of Wampus Elementary School in the Byram Hills Central School District for seven years, prior to which she was a fourth grade enrichment teacher and classroom teacher. Previously she taught fourth grade in the Clarkstown Central School District and worked as a teaching assistant in the Chappaqua Central School District, where she began her educational career in 1997. Ms. Garcia is certified in elementary and special education, and she studied curriculum and instruction, as well as technology, at Pace University where she obtained both her Bachelor of Science Degree and her Master of Science Degree. She earned her Advanced Certificate in School Building Leadership through the College of New Rochelle.
