Pupil Personnel and Special Education Services
Pupil Personnel and Special Education Services are designed to meet the diverse needs of the student population at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The District provides a full continuum of programs and related services for students with disabilities. Services are provided by special education teachers, psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, teachers of the visually impaired, and special education teaching assistants and aides. Services are provided to school-age students who are classified by the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and the 504 Committee. Students in general education may be provided services under Educationally Related Support Services (ERSS). Preschool students are provided services at home or in preschool settings under the auspices of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE).
